About The Master’s Way Academy

The Master’s Way Academy was founded by Margarita López Hart, an experienced educator and administrator, to provide a Christian, individualized, hybrid education for any student, but especially those who need to grow at their own pace, including neurodivergent students. Together with the help of trusted families she met as an educator, who have felt the call to homeschool their children but also want a consistent community and professional support, she is launching this pioneer work in the fall of 2026.

The Heart of Our Master—Our Inspiration 

During the Christmas break of 2023, while working as a school administrator at a private Christian school, Mrs. Hart was earnestly praying for guidance on how to help students who are often not served at such schools, for example, those with dyslexia, sensory issues, etc. Reading the passage of the feeding of the 5.000, she felt that the Lord spoke to her when Jesus told the disciples, “They don’t have to leave. Why don’t you give them something to eat?” (Matthew 14:16, CEV).

She started to research models that can best serve any child, from those who have “ants-in-their-pants, to those who may lag behind their peers in Math, etc. This is when she hit upon the idea of a hybrid microschool, which would offer the kind of Christian education that celebrates the uniqueness of each child, who has been created in the image of God.

Facts In Brief

• Our Model: A hybrid microschool combines learn-at-home days with in-person instruction, allowing students to learn in small, multi-age groups at their own pace with less stress. Our in-person days are Tuesdays (farm chores, academics, nature walks) and Thursdays (field trips, service opportunities, practical skills, electives).
• Curriculum & Development: The school uses the Charlotte Mason Institute’s Alveary curriculum and emphasizes bilingualism in English and Spanish. Over the past year, Mrs. Hart, our founder and Head of School, has incorporated the school, recruited staff and board members, and completed specialized training through the Herzog Foundation.

Our Head of School’s Background

• Professional Background: Mrs. Hart has over two decades of experience in education, including teaching Spanish at various levels and schools, and serving as a school administrator with a Director Certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International.
• Education & Training: She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies from Western Governors University and has completed graduate-level coursework in areas such as Educational Research and Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia St. Paul University.
• Specialized Expertise: Her qualifications include training in linguistics and intercultural communication through Wycliffe Bible Translators, as well as intensive training through the Conscious Discipline Institute, which focuses on creating safe environments for children with neurological differences and histories of trauma.
• Homeschool Mom: Mrs. Hart homeschooled her son and daughter and also taught Spanish at a homeschool co-op, which was her inspiration to become an educator.

• Faith Lutheran Church in Johns Island, SC: This gracious and welcoming congregation has opened its doors to us so we can have classroom spaces. We look forward to collaborating with caring pastor Thulie and her dynamic congregation.
• Sweetgrass Garden: This is a nonprofit farm that is 6 minutes away from Faith Lutheran on Plowground Road. We will help grow food for food banks.
